How to see your ping in Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft does not document this.

How to change server in Rainbow Six Siege

On PC only: close the game, open GameSettings.ini in Documents, My Games, Rainbow Six - Siege, then your Ubisoft Connect ID folder. At the bottom, under [ONLINE], change DataCenterHint=default to one of the listed options, for example playfab/westeurope, save and restart. Set it back to default for automatic, ping based choice. Ubisoft documents this for PC only.

Where the Rainbow Six Siege servers are

Ubisoft lists 15 data center regions for Rainbow Six Siege by area name only, with no cities. The game connects you to the data center for your region by itself. You can see which one you are on under the gear icon in the main menu, in the Data Center section. Ubisoft documents a manual change for PC only, through a settings file.

Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Ubisoft's.

What our test reads for Rainbow Six Siege

  • The North America Central test point is in Ohio. Ubisoft gives no city for United States Central and United States South Central.
  • The South Africa test point is in Cape Town. Ubisoft gives no city for South Africa North.
  • The Middle East (Gulf) test point is in UAE. Ubisoft gives no city for United Arab Emirates North.
  • AWS reports its UAE region as damaged, so treat Gulf figures with care.

Ubisoft publishes no figure for Rainbow Six Siege. Our own bands, which are not Ubisoft's: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above.
Does the test measure the Rainbow Six Siege servers themselves?
No. It times public test points in 14 of Rainbow Six Siege's 14 areas, from your browser. That shows network distance in tens of milliseconds; the number Rainbow Six Siege shows you decides.
