How to change server in Garena Free Fire

You cannot. Garena ties each account to a server region when you create it, based on where you are, and does not move accounts between servers. To play on another server you need a new account created there. Your account's region shows in the top left of the start screen and in the bottom left of the Settings menu.

Where the Garena Free Fire servers are

Garena lists 15 Free Fire server regions, each with its own support team: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, India, CIS countries, Europe, Middle East, Brazil, United States, South America (SAC), North America, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It does not say which cities host them. The game puts a new account on a region based on where you are when you create it, and that choice is permanent. Free Fire and Free Fire MAX share the same account region. Friends on another server stay in your list but you cannot play together.

Where Garena gives no city, the table says not published. An area folded onto a test point never borrows that test point's city.

What Garena says about ping

Garena calls 150 ms or less the ideal ping for Free Fire, says lower is better, and puts the average player ping at about 250 ms. For high ping it suggests restarting the phone, trying mobile data instead of Wi-Fi or the other way round, moving closer to the router and restarting it, and closing apps running in the background.

Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Garena's.

What our test reads for Garena Free Fire

  • The result reads Garena Free Fire's own 8 measured areas. Pick the region you play on, or the test takes the best one by steadiness, then by time.
  • Your account's region decides which servers you can use. Pick it under Region you play on, or the result assumes you can play on the best area.
  • CIS and Latin America South have no test point yet, so the test cannot read them.
  • The North America Central test point is in Ohio. Garena gives no city for this area.
  • The Middle East (Gulf) test point is in UAE. Garena gives no city for this area.
  • AWS reports its UAE region as damaged, so treat Gulf figures with care.

What is a good ping in Garena Free Fire?
Garena calls 150 ms or less the ideal ping for Free Fire, says lower is better, and puts the average player ping at about 250 ms. For high ping it suggests restarting the phone, trying mobile data instead of Wi-Fi or the other way round, moving closer to the router and restarting it, and closing apps running in the background.
