Why is my ping high in Counter-Strike 2?
Valve names 1 Counter-Strike 2 server location, not a full list. Our test times the area it sits in from your browser.

How to see your ping in Counter-Strike 2
The scoreboard shows each player's ping. For more detail, switch on the Telemetry HUD element in the Game Settings menu, which can also graph network jitter. Under the Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping setting the game lists your nearest official datacenters.
How to change server in Counter-Strike 2
Valve documents no region picker for official matchmaking. Its release notes tie the datacenter you reach to the game's ping calculations, and under the Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping setting the game lists your nearest official datacenters.
Where the Counter-Strike 2 servers are
Valve does not publish a list of Counter-Strike 2 server locations. Outside China, its release notes name one location, London, added in July 2024. The game shows your nearest official datacenters and their ping under the Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping setting, so check that in-game list to see where you will play.
| Location | City | Country | Our test point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe West (our name, no label published) | London | United Kingdom | Europe West: Ireland, London and Paris |
Valve names these locations only, not a full list. A city it does not name prints as not published, and an area folded onto a test point never borrows that test point's city.
What Valve says about ping
Valve publishes no ping figure or advice for Counter-Strike 2.
Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Valve's.
What our test reads for Counter-Strike 2
- Valve names some locations only, so the test compares every region. The result is general unless you pick the region you play on.
Fixes that fit your Counter-Strike 2 result
- Ethernet or Wi-Fi, when the spread is high or requests go missing.
- 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, when you play on Wi-Fi.
- Background downloads, when the spread jumps while others use the line.
- Router QoS, when the home line is full.
- When the route is the problem, when the result reads far from the servers.
