Dated or thin source

What Rockstar Games publishes about GTA Online servers is dated or thin. Check the game's own menus before you rely on this page.

How to see your ping in GTA Online

Rockstar Games does not document this.

How to change server in GTA Online

Rockstar documents no region choice. To move to a different session, open the Pause menu, go to the Online tab, choose Find New Session and pick a session type (Public, Invite Only, Crew, Closed Crew or Closed Friend).

Where the GTA Online servers are

Rockstar does not publish where GTA Online sessions run or document a region choice. Sessions have a host player, and private session types limit who can join. Moving to a new session from the Online tab of the Pause menu is the only server change Rockstar documents.

Rockstar Games publishes no list of GTA Online server locations, so this page names no region and the test times all of them.

What Rockstar Games says about ping

Rockstar Games publishes no ping figure or advice for GTA Online.

Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Rockstar Games'.

What our test reads for GTA Online

  • Rockstar Games does not say where the servers are, so the result is a general one over every region, and says so.
