How to see your ping in Apex Legends
Open Settings, go to the Gameplay tab and switch on Performance Display. The overlay then shows frame rate, latency and packet loss during play.
How to change server in Apex Legends
Start the game but stop at the launch screen before you select Continue. Pick Data Center in the bottom left corner and choose the data center nearest to where you are playing from.
Where the Apex Legends servers are
EA does not publish a list of Apex Legends data centers or their cities. When you start playing, the game puts you on the region with the lowest latency for you. You can switch to another data center from the Data Center option on the launch screen. EA splits Apex matchmaking into North America, Asia and solo regions, each with its own data centers. EA moved Apex to Amazon GameLift servers in April 2025.
Electronic Arts publishes no list of Apex Legends server locations, so this page names no region and the test times all of them.
What Electronic Arts says about ping
EA says Apex ping usually sits between 50 and 150 ms. It calls under 100 ms fine for play, under 50 ms very good, and says lag can start once ping passes 100 ms.
Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Electronic Arts'.
What our test reads for Apex Legends
- Electronic Arts does not say where the servers are, so the result is a general one over every region, and says so.
Fixes that fit your Apex Legends result
- Ethernet or Wi-Fi, when the spread is high or requests go missing.
- 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, when you play on Wi-Fi.
- Background downloads, when the spread jumps while others use the line.
- Router QoS, when the home line is full.
- When the route is the problem, when the result reads far from the servers.
- Console ping, when you play on a console.
