Why is my ping high in Fortnite?
Epic Games does not publish where the Fortnite servers are. The test can still time every region from your browser, as a general result.

How to see your ping in Fortnite
The Matchmaking Region list (Settings, Game tab) shows your ping in ms next to each region. For network details during a match, go to Settings, Game UI tab, set Net Debug Stats to On and select Apply. The details show in the top left corner.
How to change server in Fortnite
Select your player icon at the top right to open the social panel, then Settings (the gear) and the Game tab. Under Language and Region, open Matchmaking Region, pick a region and select Apply. Auto picks the region with the best ping, and Epic Games recommends it. Picking a fixed region also lets you set Subregion Preference. In Creative the same option sits in the Game Menu under Settings, Matchmaking Region.
Where the Fortnite servers are
Epic Games does not publish data center cities for Fortnite. With Matchmaking Region on Auto, which Epic Games recommends, the game picks the region with the best ping for you. You can pick another region in the game settings, and the list shows your ping to each one. Check that list for the regions on offer.
Epic Games publishes no list of Fortnite server locations, so this page names no region and the test times all of them.
What Epic Games says about ping
Epic Games publishes no ping figure or advice for Fortnite.
Our test reads its own bands next to that: Excellent under 40 ms, Good 40 to under 80 ms, Playable 80 to under 130 ms, Poor 130 ms and above. These are our lines, not Epic Games'.
What our test reads for Fortnite
- Epic Games does not say where the servers are, so the result is a general one over every region, and says so.
Fixes that fit your Fortnite result
- Ethernet or Wi-Fi, when the spread is high or requests go missing.
- 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, when you play on Wi-Fi.
- Background downloads, when the spread jumps while others use the line.
- Router QoS, when the home line is full.
- When the route is the problem, when the result reads far from the servers.
